The Nelson Group is currently underway with the installation of landscape and hardscape redevelopment at the entrance to the Southbridge subdivision on Dean Forest Road. Project plans provided by Landsouth Design Studio in coordination with The Nelson Group were approved by the Southbridge Home Owner’s Association in late 2008. Improvements to the site include brick entrance and exit signs, landscape lighting, decorative fencing and large groupings of trees and shrubs. The project is expected to be completed in September of 2009.
The Bohemian Hotel
We at the Nelson Group are happy to announce our latest landscape design and installation project at The Bohemian Hotel in downtown Savannah. The Bohemian is the latest addition to the Kessler Collection of luxury hotels. Some of the elements we used in the design were mature Canary Island Date Palms along with sculptural Italian Cypress in large decorative pots spanning the front hotel entrance as well as Windmill Palms in decorative pots on the chic eighth floor rooftop lounge “Rocks On the Roof”. We are proud to have been asked once more by Mr. Kessler to be involved with another of his fine properties. (The Mansion on Forsyth Park, Columbia Place)
Stephenson Avenue Executive Court
The Nelson Group was selected by Savannah Land Company to design and install the landscape and irrigation at the new Stephenson Avenue Executive Court office building located at the corner of Stephenson Ave. & Habersham Street. Our design and execution of the project involved large groupings of palm trees, live oaks, a decorative hardscape path and seating area and a wide array of plant material used throughout the design. Our goal was to demonstrate how commercial properties can use the same design elements traditionally reserved for residential projects; giving a lush inviting feel to a large commercial setting.
The Nelson Group was selected by Morley Investment Group to provide the landscaping at Victory Crossings, 1800 East Victory Drive. In addition to the newly built Verizon store and IHOP restaurant, the existing property merchants received a facelift with new parking, building facade improvements and the addition of trees and plant material that help create a fresh new shopping environment.
Savannah Tree Foundation, Placentia Canal Renewal Project
The Nelson Group was contracted by Savannah Tree Foundation to design and install a unique urban reclamation project at Placentia Canal located on Bonaventure Road. The canal site at the time of planning was a widely unnoticed and overgrown part of Savannah’s drainage system. With the concept of creating a public green space out of this underused area, we introduced native plantings used in an orderly fashion that help transform this space into an attractive, natural environment. We are proud to be involved with yet another Savannah Tree Foundation project.
